Land Clearing Cost in Bryant, AR
Most clearing around Bryant starts with a wooded lot: tall pine, a few oaks and hickories worth saving, and a tangle of young pine, sprouts and briar underneath. What you pay depends mostly on that tangle, on how many big trees you keep, and on how easily our machine reaches the work. The figures below cover Saline County and the towns around it, from a subdivision lot in Alexander to acreage near Sheridan, Malvern or Perryville.
A quote from us is one written number with the method and finish spelled out. With forestry mulching, brush, small trees and stumps are ground into mulch on site, the stumps end flush with the ground, and nothing gets hauled. Stumps taken out below grade and very large trees cut and hauled off are both things we discuss and price in the quote when you want them. Grading and the house pad are not in our price; we clear down to the ground so your builder can take it from there. Anything left for later, such as cutting back new sprouts, is listed, and the number does not change mid-job unless you widen the work.
The statewide picture is in our Arkansas land clearing cost guide. City stormwater and county rules are in the Bryant and Saline County permit guide, the work itself is described on the Bryant services page, and pine and oak woodlots are covered on the Bryant land clearing page.
Saline County Clearing Prices
Forestry Mulching
$1,500 – $4,000 / acre
Young pine, hardwood sprouts, briar and their stumps ground into chips right on the lot. A thin layer of saplings on open ground is the cheap end; a packed stand of grown pine and oak on a slope is the costly end.
Pine & Oak Woodlot Clearing
$1,500 – $2,500 / acre
The understory thinned out of a woodlot or backyard tree line so the mature pines, oaks and hickories stand clear. Most of the cost is the count of small stems, not the big trees you keep.
Land Clearing
$1,500 – $4,500 / acre
All of the parcel cleared to the finish agreed in writing. Open land with a few saplings sits at the lower edge; heavy pine and hardwood timber sits at the upper edge. Stump removal below grade and hauling of very large trees go into the quote when you want them.
Lot & Homesite Prep
$1,500 – $4,500 / acre equivalent
A building spot, driveway and utility route cut into a wooded acre or a subdivision lot. We take it to the ground, your builder handles grading and the pad, and inside Bryant any city stormwater permit comes before the machine.
A backyard tree line or a single lot still needs the machine trailered in, and that trip costs the same for a few hours in Haskell as for a long day in Bauxite. That puts the minimum for most jobs around $1,500, and grouping a couple of small areas into one visit is the way to stretch it.
What Changes the Price of a Bryant Lot
Stem count in the understory
Arkansas Game and Fish Commission ecoregion notes describe both the Ouachita Mountains and the South Central Plains as pine mixed with oak and hickory, and a Bryant lot usually looks the same. The price sits in the layer underneath: young pine, sprouts and briar that thicken every year nobody mows. A lot cleared ten years ago is a quick pass. Larger trees are felled first and their tops ground where they land, which adds time.
Trees you plan to keep
On a wooded lot in Bryant, Benton or Shannon Hills, the shade trees are often worth keeping. Working close around a row of oaks or a stand of tall pines takes slow, careful passes, and those passes are in the price. Clearing a lot bare is faster than clearing it selectively, but it gives up the shade and leaves soil exposed. The trees that stay are agreed before the number is set.
How far you want it taken
Mulching leaves stumps cut flush under a chip layer, which suits a lot where building is a year or more off. If stumps need to come out below grade, or a very large tree has to be cut and hauled, we price that in the quote. Shaping a pad is grading, and that is for your builder; we leave the site cleared to the ground for them.
Driveways, creeks and frontage
Our crew hauls the mulcher on a trailer, and the bill is lowest when it unloads right at the work. A long gravel drive, a creek crossing, a gate too narrow for the trailer or a tight subdivision frontage means walking the machine in first. Our crew covers the way in when they call you.
City stormwater rules and burning
The City of Bryant stormwater office at 210 SW 3rd Street (phone 501-943-0453) takes permit applications for land disturbance of one acre or more and for any disturbance next to a lake, stream, creek or flowing water. ADEQ coverage applies from one acre statewide. Neither changes our rate, though either can move the start date, and a creek on the lot can change what part gets cleared. Saline County burn bans come from the county judge, and a news report on the 2020 Bryant burning ordinance described limits on burning inside the city, so mulching in place is usually the easier finish.
