Greg did a fantastic job with our land that was overgrown with vines, brush and trees. It took about 1 1/2 days of constant work with the machine to get this 0.6 acres under control. Greg was here at 8am sharp, just as promised. Very professional and reliable. 100% satisfied customer! I highly recommend Cut Brush for land clearing.

Land Clearing & Forestry Mulching Across Meridian and the Treasure Valley

Cut Brush clears overgrown land for owners around Meridian, from Kuna, Star and Eagle to Nampa, Caldwell and Middleton, and out to Emmett, Horseshoe Bend and Marsing. Much of Meridian itself is built out in subdivisions, so the woody work sits on the edges: acreage and ranchette ground, ditch banks and laterals, old fence rows, river frontage and the brushy foothills toward Hidden Springs.

Most of it is forestry mulching. Our crew grinds brush and small trees into mulch where they grew, in one pass, so nothing is left to burn or haul. We also offer land clearing, Russian olive and ditch-bank clearing, and lot and homesite prep.

Mulching leaves a chip mat over the soil instead of bare dirt, which matters on ground that weeds take over fast. If you are building, we clear to the ground so your builder can grade.

Sound Familiar?

  • Russian olive closing over a ditch bank, thorns and all
  • A fence row so overgrown you cannot find the wire
  • Acreage gone to brush and volunteer trees since the last owner
  • A brush pile you are not allowed to burn inside the city

Cut Brush Delivers

  • Ditch banks cut back, with the regrowth planned for from day one
  • Fence lines ground open so the wire can be fixed or moved
  • Acreage mulched in one pass, with the trees you choose left standing
  • Brush turned to mulch on site, so there is no pile to burn or haul

Why Treasure Valley Property Owners Choose Cut Brush

Clearing around Meridian is mostly ditch-bank brush, Russian olive and acreage that has gone wild. The method has to work around the trees you keep, leave the ground covered and answer the debris question.

  • No burn pile to plan around. Inside Meridian, the fire department allows burning only along irrigation ditches and recreational fires. Mulching leaves nothing to burn.
  • The trees you want stay. A mulching head works between trunks, so the cottonwoods and willows you flag are left standing.
  • Per-acre bands in public. The Meridian pricing page lists the range for each kind of work.
  • Scope and price on paper. Our crew writes both out before work starts.
  • What the price includes. Forestry mulching grinds brush, small trees and stumps into mulch on site, with stumps flush with the ground and nothing hauled away. Full stump removal below grade and cut-and-haul for very large trees are discussed and priced in the quote. Grading and build pads are not part of our price.

What to Know Before Clearing Land Around Meridian

Ditch banks may not be yours alone. Canals and laterals run through most Treasure Valley acreage, and Idaho Code 42-1209 bars encroachment on an irrigation easement, trees and vegetation included, without the irrigation entity's written permission. Before work on a bank, confirm whether it sits inside a district's easement and ask the district. The Meridian forestry mulching cost guide explains how bank access shows up in a quote.

Russian olive does not stay cut. Ada County targeted it for cutting and stump treatment in Barber Park's cottonwood forest on the Boise River, because cottonwoods and willows cannot regenerate under its canopy. It sprouts again from the stump and roots. Mulching opens the bank; a stump treatment by your licensed applicator, and a check the next season, keep it open. The Russian olive removal guide sets out the order.

Ask the city or the county first. Inside Meridian, the Community Development department is the office to call. Outside the city, Ada County Development Services issues grading permits, priced by the cubic yards of earth moved. Disturbing an acre or more of soil brings in Idaho DEQ's construction stormwater permit. Requirements vary by parcel, scope and jurisdiction, and the governing authority makes the determination.

Meridian Land Clearing FAQ

Ask before booking. Inside the city, call Meridian's Community Development department; outside it, Ada County Development Services, which issues grading permits by the cubic yards of earth moved. Mulching moves no earth, but a job that disturbs an acre or more of soil brings in Idaho DEQ's construction stormwater permit. Requirements vary by parcel, scope and jurisdiction, and the governing authority makes the determination.
Most scopes land between $1,500 and $4,500 an acre. Scattered brush and young trees on flat ground sit at the low end; a dense Russian olive stand on a wet river lot sits higher. All four bands are on the Meridian pricing guide, the Meridian forestry mulching cost guide explains day-rate and hourly quotes, and our Idaho land clearing cost guide covers the rest of the state.
Expect it to. The U.S. Forest Service notes that Russian olive sprouts from the trunk, root crown and roots after it is cut back. When Ada County cleared it from Barber Park, licensed applicators treated the fresh stumps right away. Our crew cuts and grinds the trees; the stump treatment is work for your licensed applicator. Our Russian olive removal guide sets out the full plan.
Often, yes, on your own ground. Idaho Code 42-1209 protects irrigation ditch and canal easements, trees and vegetation included, so if the bank belongs to an irrigation district's easement, ask the district before work starts. Permission is not to be unreasonably withheld, and having it in writing settles the question.
Five counties across the Treasure Valley. Ada County, with Meridian, Kuna, Eagle, Star, Boise, Garden City and Hidden Springs. Canyon County, with Nampa, Caldwell, Middleton, Melba, Notus, Greenleaf, Wilder and Parma. Emmett in Gem County, Robie Creek and Horseshoe Bend in Boise County, and Marsing and Homedale in Owyhee County. If your land is nearby, ask even when your town is not named.
