Land Clearing Cost in Tremonton, UT

Around Tremonton, the clearing that costs real money grows along water. Tamarisk and Russian olive line the irrigation ditches, canal banks and river bottoms of the Bear River Valley, and that work is priced by the acreage a strip adds up to. Old field corners, fence lines and farm parcels going to houses are priced by the acre in the usual way. The four rows below cover both, in Garland, Elwood and Corinne as much as in Tremonton itself.

Every quote arrives as one written number that names the method and the finish. Forestry mulching grinds brush, small trees and stumps into mulch on site, with stumps flush with the ground and nothing hauled away. Full stump removal below grade and cut-and-haul for very large trees are discussed and priced in the quote. Grading and build pads are not part of our price: we clear to the ground so a builder can grade. Herbicide on tamarisk or Russian olive stumps is a licensed applicator's work and price, not ours.

Tremonton Rates by Type of Work

Forestry Mulching

$1,500 – $4,000 / acre

A tracked machine turns brush, tamarisk, Russian olive and young trees into chips in place, stumps cut level and the chips spread over the soil. Thin growth on firm, level ground is the cheap end; an old, packed stand on a soft river bottom is the costly end.

Tamarisk & Russian Olive Clearing

$1,500 – $2,500 / acre

Tamarisk and Russian olive taken off a ditch, canal bank or field edge while the cottonwoods and willows you choose stay up. Long, narrow strips are measured by the acres they add up to and usually price here.

Land Clearing

$1,500 – $4,500 / acre

An entire parcel brought to the finish named on your quote. An old field with patchy brush sits low in the range; a thick stand of big trees ground down to soil level sits high. Full stump removal below grade, or cut-and-haul for very large trees, is discussed and priced in the quote.

Lot & Homesite Prep

$1,500 – $4,500 / acre equivalent

Room for the house, the driveway and the utility lines opened on a farm parcel or overgrown lot. Grading and build pads are not part of our price: we clear to the ground so your builder can grade.

Where an acre falls inside its row depends on the growth on it. $1,500 is the minimum charge for a project, a floor and not an extra fee. Hauling a tracked mulcher out to a ditch near Riverside or a lot in Honeyville takes the same trailer trip whether it runs a morning or a full day, which is why small jobs bill at that floor. Lining up more stretches of bank, or sharing the visit with a neighbour, stretches the same trip further.

Five Factors Behind a Tremonton Price

How old and thick the stand is

A few years of tamarisk regrowth goes through the mulching head quickly. An old stand with trunks as thick as your leg, grown into a solid wall along a ditch, takes several times as long per foot of bank. Utah State University Extension describes saltcedar reaching 6 to 26 feet, and the tall end of that range is the slow end of the band.

How narrow and wet the strip is

Ditch and canal banks are long and thin, so the machine spends more of its time turning and repositioning than on an open field. Soft ground at the water's edge has to be worked when it will carry the machine. Both show up in the hours, and the hours set where the strip lands in its row.

What you keep and what is nearby

Cottonwoods, willows, fruit trees, head gates, culverts and fences along a bank all need room. Flag every tree you want kept and point out every structure before anyone prices the job; working carefully around them takes longer than running straight through.

Follow-up you arrange separately

Tamarisk and Russian olive both sprout back from what is left in the ground. Our price covers bringing them down and grinding them. The stump treatment that stops the sprouting is your licensed applicator's work and price, usually timed right after the cut, with a check the next season.

Permits and what happens to the brush

Tremonton City, Box Elder County or the State Engineer, if the job reaches the bank of the Bear or Malad River, can tell you whether your scope needs anything from them. Their answers do not alter our rate, but a permit can push back the start. Because mulched brush is never piled, no burn permit enters the cost.

Tremonton Pricing Questions

Most jobs here run $1,500 to $4,500 an acre. Light brush on firm, dry ground sits toward the bottom; an old, packed stand of tamarisk or Russian olive ground down on a soft bank sits toward the top. By the acreage the strip adds up to. A bank 20 feet wide and about 2,200 feet long is roughly one acre. Short strips usually fall under the $1,500 project minimum, so it is worth adding the next stretch of ditch or a neighbour's bank to the same visit. The Tremonton forestry mulching cost guide walks through how strips and fields compare.
Usually not per acre: narrow ditch stands land in the $1,500 to $2,500 row. The extra cost comes afterwards and is not ours to charge: your licensed applicator treats the stumps, and someone walks the bank the following season. Our tamarisk removal guide sets out the sequence.
Yes, once you turn it into a per-acre number. Multiply the hours quoted by the hourly rate, add any trailer or travel charge, and divide by the acres being cleared. A low hourly rate on a slow, dense stand can still come out above our band, and a high one on light brush can come out below it.
